Mary Jane Scruggs

Scruggs, Well-Known Music Teacher, Dies at 85

Miss Mary Jane Scruggs - A native of Paducah, KY and a resident of Mobile since 1940 died Friday August 24, 2007 in a local hospital. Miss Scruggs was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, She was a long time music instructor, she was past president and member of the Alabama Music Teachers Association, and she was a founding member of the Piano Ensemble. Survivors include her niece, Mary M. (Richard) Gideon of Gonzales, LA, her two nephews; Thomas S. Moffett of Mobile, AL and William H. (Debbie) Moffett, III of Fairhope, AL, her great nephew, Morgan Tyler Moffett other relatives and family and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mary's Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 10am. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 5pm till 8pm at Radney Funeral Home Dauphin Street. The Rosary will be said at 6:30pm. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
